Description
Collagen is an essential component of skin, connective tissue, bones and joints and contributes significantly to the firmness and elasticity of tissue. With age or certain lifestyle habits, the body's own collagen production can decline, which can show, among other things, as a loss of skin firmness, joint complaints or weaker connective tissue.
The collagen infusion* supplies your body with taurine, lysine and arginine – essential amino acids that play a key role in collagen synthesis. High-dose vitamin C can additionally support this process and act as a strong antioxidant.
Given intravenously, these nutrients go straight into your bloodstream and are almost completely available to your body.
Possible ingredients
Sodium chloride (NaCl)
Salt, i.e. sodium chloride (NaCl), is vital for the human body. Table salt is the main source of sodium and chloride, which are essential for fluid balance, the nervous system and blood pressure regulation. Sodium chloride protects cells from drying out and is responsible for passing on signals in nerve cells. No cell in our body could exist without salt.
Arginine
L-arginine is a natural, protein-building amino acid used as a food supplement and as a medicine. In the body, arginine is converted into nitric oxide (NO), which widens blood vessels and plays a role in the immune system and as a neurotransmitter in the nervous system. Arginine is used, among other things, as a tonic, for cardiovascular conditions, for wound healing, to support potency and fertility and in bodybuilding. Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints.
Taurine
Taurine is an amino acid that plays an important role in the body, particularly in supporting heart function, muscle regeneration and stable fluid balance. It is needed in various metabolic processes and may support performance and general vitality. Taurine is known especially for its antioxidant properties and is often used to help the body balance energy and strain.
Lysine
Lysine is one of the eight essential amino acids that adults need but the body cannot produce itself, so it must come from food. The body needs lysine to build muscle and other amino acids. The essential amino acid is also involved in bone growth, cell division and wound healing. Unlike energy sources (carbohydrates and fats), amino acids contain nitrogen and can build tissue such as organs, muscles, skin and hair.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, is one of the best-known vitamins. It acts as a strong antioxidant and protects cells from free radicals. It also supports the normal function of the immune system, especially during and after physical exertion, and plays an important role in collagen formation – for skin, bones, teeth and blood vessels. Vitamin C is also important for energy metabolism, psychological function and the nervous system. It helps to reduce tiredness, improves iron absorption and regenerates the reduced form of vitamin E. Older people and smokers in particular should make sure they get enough, as they are more often deficient. Vitamin C is found mainly in fresh vegetables and fruit such as peppers, citrus fruit, berries and kiwis.
