Description

A nutrient cocktail as an immune boost: sounds promising? It is – and may be worthwhile for your body! The immune booster infusion* contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C), zinc, B complex and magnesium in 500 ml NaCl, tailored to your possible needs, and provides vitamins, minerals and trace elements that are essential for the human body. Unlike a classic vitamin pill, you receive a high-dose nutrient mix as an infusion that the body can use almost 100% – in contrast to oral supplements.

You may notice that the infusion feels like a short but intense holiday for body and soul. It may help normalise physical and mental energy, inner balance, sleep phases, stress and tension and immunity.

Possible ingredients

B complex

B vitamins are water-soluble and cannot be stored in the body; any excess is excreted in the urine, so we depend on a regular supply. The B group comprises eight vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12. Their tasks are varied and complex. Vitamin B12 plays a special role because it is found almost exclusively in animal foods. B vitamins are important for hormone production, influence blood circulation, are involved in carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism and contribute to blood formation and healthy nerve function.

Zinc

Zinc is an essential mineral with many important functions in the body. It plays a central role in the health of skin, hair and nails – a deficiency often shows in brittle nails, dry skin or dull hair. Zinc also supports normal metabolism and the immune system, helps protect cells from oxidative stress and is involved in maintaining vision, cognitive function and fertility. Blood testosterone levels and carbohydrate, fatty acid and vitamin A metabolism are also positively influenced by zinc.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, is one of the best-known vitamins. It acts as a strong antioxidant and protects cells from free radicals. It also supports the normal function of the immune system, especially during and after physical exertion, and plays an important role in collagen formation – for skin, bones, teeth and blood vessels. Vitamin C is also important for energy metabolism, psychological function and the nervous system. It helps to reduce tiredness, improves iron absorption and regenerates the reduced form of vitamin E. Older people and smokers in particular should make sure they get enough, as they are more often deficient. Vitamin C is found mainly in fresh vegetables and fruit such as peppers, citrus fruit, berries and kiwis.

Magnesium

Magnesium performs vital functions in the body. It is involved in energy metabolism and muscle and nerve function, and is responsible for muscle contraction, communication between nerve cells and between nerve and muscle cells, and heart activity. The mineral also helps build bones and teeth and is essential for fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Only about 30 to 50 percent of the magnesium we take in with food each day is absorbed by the body.

Sodium chloride (NaCl)

Salt, i.e. sodium chloride (NaCl), is vital for the human body. Table salt is the main source of sodium and chloride, which are essential for fluid balance, the nervous system and blood pressure regulation. Sodium chloride protects cells from drying out and is responsible for passing on signals in nerve cells. No cell in our body could exist without salt.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 (also called cobalamin) is a water-soluble vitamin involved in numerous metabolic processes – including the breakdown of fatty acids and the use of folic acid, which makes it indispensable for blood formation. As vitamin B12 occurs only in animal foods, a deficiency can develop more easily on a vegan diet. A deficiency often develops gradually and can go unnoticed for years because the body's stores empty slowly.
