Iron Infusion – effects

  • May help support the body's iron balance.
  • May promote the blood's iron supply and so possibly optimise oxygen transport.
  • Given intravenously, iron is particularly efficiently available.
  • In the case of a confirmed iron deficiency, can supply the body with this essential trace element in a targeted way.

Description

The iron infusion aims to correct an iron deficiency in the body. Iron is a vital element responsible for transporting oxygen in the human body. It is stored in organs such as the liver, spleen, intestinal mucosa and bone marrow and is bound to the red blood pigment haemoglobin in the blood.

If the body does not take in enough iron from food, a deficiency can occur. A common consequence is iron-deficiency anaemia, in which the iron level in the blood falls below the normal range. At best, the iron infusion can help restore the iron level. Given intravenously, iron is absorbed efficiently so that the body can be supplied in a targeted way.

Please note: your blood iron level should be measured before the infusion so that the treatment can be tailored to you. We also recommend booking the iron infusion about two weeks in advance, as the iron is ordered as needed.

Possible ingredients

Iron

Iron is a vital element in the human body and is responsible for transporting oxygen. About a third of the body's iron is stored in tissues such as the liver, spleen, intestinal mucosa and bone marrow. The remaining two thirds are in the blood, bound to the red blood pigment haemoglobin. This bond allows oxygen from the air we breathe to be transported to the organs throughout the body.

Sodium chloride (NaCl)

Salt, i.e. sodium chloride (NaCl), is vital for the human body. Table salt is the main source of sodium and chloride, which are essential for fluid balance, the nervous system and blood pressure regulation. Sodium chloride protects cells from drying out and is responsible for passing on signals in nerve cells. No cell in our body could exist without salt.

Who is the Iron Infusion suitable for?

The iron infusion is suitable if an iron deficiency has been diagnosed or you have an increased risk of deficiency. It is particularly relevant for people whose diet does not provide enough iron, women in certain phases of life, pregnant women and people with an increased need for iron.

Thanks to the direct intravenous administration, your body can absorb the iron efficiently and use it for blood formation and other essential processes.

* The exact composition and dosage are tailored to you individually after the medical health check.
